Sealyons Reviews

Caroline
Lovely place, everything you need and fab spacious garden for the kids to play. Only niggle was the rear decking could do with updating but don't let this put you off it's a lovely place to stay
We had a lovely stay at SeaLyons and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing getaway in a beautiful part of Wales. The property was clean, comfortable and stocked with everything you need to make your stay feel like 'home from home'. Lisa and Dave are wonderful hosts who have a longstanding association and love for the area. Thank you both. See you next time!
Victoria
Lovely stay and location, will definitely return
Pamela
Beautiful holidays let, great location close to amenities and 5 min walk to a lovely beach. Will definitely be going back
Gareth
Sealyons is beautifully clean and tidy on arrival. We loved the treats left for us, milk, Welsh cakes and Prosecco, thank you. Everything was provided and lots more beside. We visited many areas Tywyn CoOp, Aberdovey the Dovey Inn for lovely Sunday lunch, Ottos for excellent pizza, Mini Mart in Fairbourne, the Victoria Inn Llanbedr is a great pub, Barmouth by train is very easy and The Last Inn was great for a birthday lunch. On our first day we had many hours of torrential rain, but the rest of the week was blue sky, warmth and absolutely fantastic, what a treat! Every night 5 we watched stunning sunsets from Fairbourne beach, fabulous. Only one complaint the top mattress on the main bed moves and neither of us could get comfortable in it, shame.
Christine
The Cottage had everything I would need, however, I couldn't get the cooker hob to work and so had to make do with ready meals. I noticed A funny smell in main bedroom and the sheets didn't smell very fresh, but looked clean so I'm guessing the smell came from the hoover which let off A dirty dog smell when I hoovered. There was more than enough utensils and cook ware in the kitchen and was very clean. There were also stains on the couch in the living room which indicated that the Cottage isn't well maintained. The owner however might not be aware of this as he might send cleaners in to do the job and they haven't fulfilled there duties so I hope when he reads this he will be able to get it sorted. The bath and shower was great and there was more than enough towels provided and A washing machine. It's A pity there wasn't A washing line outside in the beautiful big garden with seating area. Overall I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay and as outlined just little niggly things none of which spoilt my stay. I sprayed febreze on the bed which sorted the smell.
Omg where to start, the material chairs need steam cleaning, you literally stuck to the arms, the pans in the oven smoked with grease when oven put on, the lighting in the dining area was like eating in a cave, needs proper bulbs, yes they have 3 tv's but 2 no bigger than a table mat and the living room one needs to be bigger as the seating is at the furthest point The property itself was like a council estate, and I would know i like in one, paid more for one week than I do for a month Would I return? No way
My second holiday in this lovely bright clean bungalow. Very peaceful and relaxing. There are lovely views from the decking. The village is very friendly and the surrounding area is stunningly beautiful. My only concern at my age 80 is the difficult access to the lovely beach which the residents of Fairbourne are campaigning to have rectified.
Gareth
Nice bungalow, but would like carpet in the lounge. Great views from the decking which we used a lot. Would prefer a walk in shower than a bath, loved the little white towel in the bathroom. Great that treats were left for us, especially milk and Prosecco, thank you.
Josephine
This was a lovely holiday home, in immaculate condition. We had a lovely few days.
Gurdip
Perfectly placed Bungalow for a peaceful break. Very comfortable, clean and well maintained property. Would definitely recommend and consider coming back again.
Bungalow is in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the train station and bus stop. Parking for one car in the drive and a quiet location without noise at night. It is also a flat easy walk to the beach. It is spacious and has good facilities and also has a lovely view of surrounding mountains and the fields which had horses in them during our visit. There are a number of issues which I think should be addressed before the next holiday season. The double bed is ok but has an additional mattress on top of the original and the second mattress moves during the night needing adjustment most days. Unfortunately the heating is very sparse none in the bathroom and a wall mounted device in the main bedroom which doesnt work. A tiny oil filled electric radiator was too small to heat the main bedroom. The paint has rusted on the bathroom rail which is therefore difficult to keep clean and the water pressure is very poor. Showers were challenging. There is mould around the shower end of the bath at multiple locations. We were unable to obtain hot water for hand washing or washing dishes in the bathroom or kitchen sink respectively and again the pressure is too low. Finally , there werent any instructions on how to use appliances and we had to try several internet networks to guess which one matched the WiFi code.
Frances
Well equipped and comfortable, location very good. Hot water was poor as was the water pressure in the shower, but no other comments. Very good otherwise

We are regular visitors to Fairbourne but this was our first stay. We are so pleased that we chose Sealyons , the bungalow is just beautiful, such attention to detail a real holiday by the sea home . It is comfortable , warm and well equipped with everything you might use at home. We cooked meals , enjoyed eating at the lovely dining table with superb views and then relaxing in the living room in the evenings . We werent expecting great weather staying in April however we managed to get out and about every day but the bungalow was perfect to come back to and just relax. It made a difference travelling with children to have really good wifi in the bungalow! The views are stunning, watching the sun rise over the surrounding mountains in the morning. We enjoyed watching the ponies, bunnies and ducks in the field behind the cottage and the little train going back and forth throughout the day. The beach, shops , chip shop are just a short walk. We found the locals incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is a little laundrette where you can easily dry any washing . The Welsh sunsets are something else to watch especially if you get lucky and time with the high tide . We used the train most days, easily travelling to Barmouth, Aberdovey, Tywyn and Pwllheli. The train service is cheap, reliable and very enjoyable you cant beat the views from the train. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with a lovely welcome hamper on arrival. We would definitely return to Sealyons , it was such a lovely week thank you.
Philip
Mattresses on the single beds abit lumpy. Otherwise all good.
Don't hesitate, just book it. You won't be disappointed at Sealyons. Wake up in bed to a view of the sunrise coming over the top of the mountains. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the paddock with horses and rabbits. View the Fairbourne narrow gauge railway passing just a few yards away. Spend the day visiting the many attractions in the area. Take an evening stroll just round the corner to the beach and view the glorious sunset on the horizon. What more could you wish for to have a great holiday.
Fabulous peaceful and beautiful scenery surrounding the bungalow. Listening to the cuckoo whilst having a coffee on the decking. Only downfall was now walkin shower cubicle for my disabled mom
This was a really lovely stay and we thoroughly enjoyed Sealyons as a base for getting heaps of fresh air amid a beautiful part of Wales. The accommodation was so well furnished with everything provided we could possibly need. It was also cleaned to a very high standard and we even had a super welcome pack that deserves a big thank you. Surrounded by mountains and minutes from a vast beach that was almost private due to so few people. Awesome. Fairbourne is very level too which is great for walking steadily if its not ones strong point. We loved sitting on the decking in the evening listening to a cuckoo in the woods, seeing the wild rabbits who even visited and on one occasion chickens in the roadway outside, whats not too like? Great quality T.V. C.D, Radio all enhanced our weeks stay. We will have lasting memories of the sun rising over the mountains and even the early mists and low cloud all giving the landscape unique character. Super stuff. On a constructive note we found the double bed perhaps needs a topper and it is quite low one of us has knee problems, the bathroom transom window cannot be closed in a locked position and the back gate latch needs attention. This is minor stuff though, and nothing will detract from how much we enjoyed our stay, which was very much indeed. Thank you to the owner, your lovely property has set the benchmark we feel, it is that nice, light, and airy. It flows beautifully, a pleasure to be staying there.
Adrian
Lovely bungalow with lots of space and everything we needed. Great holiday.
A file containing information on how the heating works, local Doctor and nearest Hospital, Police station. An idiots guide on how to operate the cooker. Otherwise everything to hand crockery, utensils, cutlery, washing up materials, tea towels and bin liners.
Rachel
Lovely cottage great location compare to the beach and hiking trails, roomy, modern appliance and clean. Would definitely recommend! Nice place to get some fresh air and love the beach themed decor
Graham
An excellent cottage in a great location. Clean, well presented and suitable for family holidays. Highly recommended
We had a lovely stay in Sealyons, which is centrally located for walking in the hills as well as exploring the Mawwddach Estuary and the coast. The house is very well equipped for a comfortable holiday. The only thing we missed was a house manual with instructions for the various appliances eg. heaters, TVs, oven and the appropriate recycling. However, the owners answered our questions very quickly by text message.
Elizabeth
Lovely, welcoming and cosy bungalow with a very wellequipped kitchen. Great location for walkers.
A lovely comfortable bungalow and well equipped. I think this was our 4th stay here and we will be back.
Graham
A really nice property, next to really good facilities. The beach hills and wonderful walks within minutes walk from the front door. A well kept and well presented holiday home. Highly recommended.
Fabulous stay at Sealyons. We loved the new Kitchen and shower. Lovely views and the owners have made it feel so homely and welcoming it has everything you need for a fantastic holiday. We sat on the decking and had breakfast one morning watching the little steam train. Close to the beach and so many fabulous walks and cycles. Sat also watching Rabbits and Horses in the field and even saw a Bird of Prey along with Seagulls. Many Happy Memories made and we will definitely be back soon.
Susan J
Shocked to find someone else's underwear & socks in bedroom draws, plumbing in bathroom needs attention, also one small bath towel for a full week of showers & hand drying is not sufficient. bonus's were the cottage was warm & cosy, very pleasant to sit outside on the garden patio, all neighbours very friendly. Lovely area for a relaxing holiday, with a great beach.
A beautifullly placed retreat from everyday life. Due to covid, the stay felt like a month in Cyprus! Train is a major plus in the area. Definitely stay again.
Andrew
The house is on a nice quiet street with excellent views of the mountains. The kids loved watching the chickens that kept coming into the garden and the fact that there were sheep wandering up and down the street. Also, if youre into railways, the Fairbourne Railway passes close to the house. Excellent, relaxing holiday.
Everything about this bungalow is superb bar the bath it's more suited for left ... Everything about this bungalow is superb bar the bath it's more suited for left hand people but so what it's a holiday home and the shower made do
Karl Stewart
Wonderful bungalow, we have used it twice now and would certainly book it again.
Excellent facilities in the cottage and quiet location. The garden was ideal for relaxing and sitting peacefully in the sun. We wanted a restful holiday and we chose a perfect place. The railway station nearby was brilliant for travelling to other towns. The sandwich shop in the village was great fantastic food to reheat for evening meals. We walked into Barmouth over the bridge and had lunch In a lovely pub. The scenery on the road to Tywyn was stunning, it was a clear sunny day and you could see for miles.
The house was lovely and warm and cozy Very clean and tidy, perfect for going out to see all the sights.
Steven
Great cottage, great location cannot wait to return didn't want to leave.
We loved our week in Fairbourne. The bungalow was perfect very warm, cosy and comfortable and it provided a good base to explore the area. The little train along the coast and the ferry across to Barmouth was a great way to start the week. There's loads to do in the area so will probably go back! Thanks again.
Richard
Very well equipped bungalow with easy access and with a garden and patio. 5 minute walk to the local station for trips along the wonderful coastline.
