Peniarth Ganol Reviews

Andrew
A great place and have booked again for next year!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was lovely and well appointed. It made a great base for exploring the local area. Our grand daughter was fascinated by the calves in the yard first thing in the morning and we had to see them every day! We will be looking to book the cottage again next year.
Property very well equipped and comfortable. We know all about Peniarth Ganol this was my husbands family ancestral home before the renovation which has been completed vary tastefully with every thing that is needed to have a comfortable stay. We stayed over Christmas and we took all of our decs and cleaning materials as none in property on the bad side the house in communal areas was very dirty took 3 hours to clean areas by myself and my daughter. I also had to clean oven. This was not acceptable after the cost of the house over the Christmas holidays. Also the Housekeeping man was very rude to me on the phone and in text when I asked him questions he needs to be told how to speak to customers. Various parts of the house needs some maintenance doing which I wrote in book on site. I know this review sounds bad but the property is fantastic and it is only the housekeeping that is letting it down. This house needs a deep clean and the housekeeping man should not expect guests to clean property before they move in. After we left the house is clean but this should not of happened. Not Happy.
This was our second stay at this lovely holiday cottage and it was just as perfect as the first. The setting is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, surrounded by greenery and stunning views. The cottage is spotless, very well equipped and the bed is incredibly comfortable. We loved being able to head out on great walks straight from the doorstep. A truly relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!

We stayed as a large group 4 adults and 3 children and Peniarth Ganol more than comfortably accommodated us. The house is nothing short of incredible. A stunning cottage renovation, with outstanding views. Super well equipped with everything you could need. The log burner was very welcome especially as the weather was pretty awful when we stayed Lots of walking and adventures within relatively close proximity including the Mach Loop which is a must if you have the slightest interest in aircraft. Would not hesitate to recommend and already planning a return next year.
This is our 4th stay at Peniarth Ganol. It was as lovely as ever! The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed sitting outside for an evening beer enjoying the wonderful location. There are many walks of all varieties from the door or a short car journey to get to paths up Cader Idris. We look forward to returning.

The cottage has been beautifully renovated and is set in a stunning location. It is very well equipped. Our grandchildren loved playing in the garden, watching the sheep and the swallows. I would definitely recommend it. The only fault we had was that the cold tap over the bath didnt work and this had been reported several times in the housekeeping book, luckily for us our 9 month old didnt mind being washed in the shower with her mum.
William
Lovely spacious converted farmhouse has everything you might need for a family or group of friends to holiday in a beautiful part of N. Wales. Clean, comfortable and well equipped, also with an EV charging point.
Sharon
We had a tremendous stay at Peniarth Ganol. Such a beautiful house in a wonderful setting. Our first visit, but we would love to return.
Andrew
The house was lovely, bigger than it looked from the pictures in a gorgeous secluded and peaceful location. Highly recommended, wed book Peniarth Ganol again, the owners were very responsive and friendly also.
Peniarth Ganol was an exceptionally well renovated property, very spacious for 8 people, also cosy and intimate for our family time. It was very fully equipped and furnished to a high standard, the beds, particularly, were very comfortable. Pretty much everything had been considered by the hosts, up to a wide range of reading material, board games and of course, internetconnected smart TV for the kids and older ones !!. I was particularly impressed with the wide agerange of books on the shelves in the kids bunk room our 8 year old is an avid reader and found a gem or two to keep her happy. We were never bored, at home or on our adventures. We had everything needed for a great holiday, being in a beautiful rural location, with a working farm on our doorstep, yet with easy access to Tywyn and anywhere in beautiful midWales. We were very fortunate with pretty good weather for February too. We would not hesitate to book again in the future. Superb location, outstanding property. One downside which we did report in the customer comments book the upstairs shower was not useable, as the cold water tap fell off on first use and the shower could not easily be turned off, never mind the temperature controlled. Fortunately, one of the adults managed to turn it off in the end. Surprisingly, given there were 8 of us, we managed perfectly well with the large downstairs shower room, the problem was only discovered on the penultimate day of our stay.

Peniarth Ganol was the perfect retreat for escaping the noise of fireworks with our dogs. Its incredibly quiet and peaceful, with stunning views of Bird Rock right from the property. Despite feeling secluded, its just a short drive to Tywyn, where you can find all the essentials. There are also some great pubs serving food and fantastic places to visit even closer by. The cottage is by far the most wellequipped weve ever stayed inyou could easily cook a full Christmas dinner here! Its the only place weve visited that even has pint glasses, much to my husbands delight. The kingsize bed is exceptionally comfortable as well. We loved it so much weve already booked again for next year!
Beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings. Extremely well equipped, ideally placed to visit places of interest but able to return to an extremely peaceful location on the farm.
This is a simply beautiful cottage in a gorgeous peaceful location. We are looking forward to our next stay very much!

Lovely house in picturesque location. This was my fifth visit. Beds comfortable and house fresh and clean to walk into. Where there have been problems for other guests, their notes in the book have been noted and acted upon. The house is my goto for this area of Wales from now on.
William
We really enjoyed our stay. The location is absolutely stunning with wonderful views. The farmhouse was clean and well presented. It is spacious and well equipped for a family holiday. Lots of wildlife and farm animals close by provide interest at all times. We would definitely like to book it again sometime. Thank you!

Incredible cottage. Everything you could need is there. Beautiful location. Stunning. Booked straight away to return. Perfect break away. Loved every second.
Weve just returned home from a wonderful Christmas week at this truly amazing cottage. The cottage is set in the a idilic location with views from every window. So many walks from the doorstep. Its around 15 minute drive from Aberdovey which is a lovely small town with some shops restaurants and pubs and well as wonderful beaches. The house itself is stunning. Its been renovated beautifully throughout. The furnishing as so so well thought out which makes it very comfortable. There is nothing the owners havent thought of. Log fire, games, books. The kitchen and utility is well stocked with everything you can think of. We didnt want to come home. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Carolyn

Peniarth Ganol is a beautifully refurbished former farmhouse. It is full of character and quirkiness but with all the amenities you could hope for. We stayed there as a family of 4 adults with two children our grandchildren, and our two dogs. We all had a great time both in the cottage and in the gardens and it was isolated enough to enjoy peace and quiet but near enough to travel to a variety of different destinations. There is so much to do there and we love visiting different areas of Wales year after year. The owners had thought of just about everything, even providing a large basket of dishwasher tablets and large bags to put dirty linen in. I imagined it to be a soft water area but there was some limescale in the bottom of the kettle which our daughter scrubbed most of it off. It was great to have a choice of bathrooms with the downstairs shower room being very much appreciated. It was great that there was a really useful utility room as well as plenty of storage everywhere. There was also a spacious and ample fridge freezer. Despite all that was provided, we took extra toilet roll, kitchen towel, beach and tea towels, extra bin bags etc so we really were short of very little and improvised where we needed to. There was a huge choice of adults and children's books and games with our grandchildren never tiring of snakes and ladders with much hilarity and cheating going on. The wifi is excellent and useful because there isn't much signal elsewhere until you reach towns. Within several miles, there are plenty of shops to buy provisions with lots of Aldis and Coops and a few other independent shops. There are so many stunning hand crafted features of the cottage like the hand made window frames, and enormous dining table, and the staircase. Had the weather been slightly better, we would have had a BBQ outside but when the weather was fine, we went out and about exploring but there was plenty of seats and tables in the garden so plenty of choice for everyone. Great holiday all round and a lovely property and location.
We loved our stay in this cottage. It was perfect for our group. It looks bigger than the photos and it is well equipped. The small touches really made a difference, such as the dog treats and welcome pack. Hoping to come back next year.
Wonderful property. Everything you need and more. Very peaceful .
Lovely well equipped house they have thought of everything. The location and views are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this property

This is our 3rd visit. We love it here and will be back.
Beautiful house & fascinating to see before & after pictures! Really well equipped to a very high standard & honestly there was nothing missing. The house is very remote so if you prefer to be nearer amenities this isnt for you. Very peaceful location. We had a very enjoyable stay & would recommend if you want peace & quiet.
