Celyn Reviews

Hannah
Lovely shepherds hut, very peaceful place, beautifully furnished and felt very roomy for a condensed space. Mrs Lloyd the cat was an extra special host welcoming us on arrival. And we even had the treat of a family of ducklings paddling on the pond to keep us entertained. We would definitely come back.

Had a wonderful week at the Shepherds hut Celyn, with my husband and dog. The hut itself was beautiful and clean had everything we needed, the garden area was immaculate and all fenced off so the dog could roam free. We couldn't of asked for better weather and the hot tub was lovely to relax in at the end of the day. We wanted a weeks holiday to just relax, unwind and have peace and quiet which is what we had at Celyn it was lovely and have come home feeling thoroughly refreshed. Thank you to the hosts for the welcome pack and for making such a special place amazing.
Gabriela
We had an absolutely stunning stay at this shepherds hut! Having stayed in similar places before, we had high hopes, but this cabin surpassed all our expectations. It might look quaint from the outside, but inside it feels like a highend hotel with every amenity you could needa huge, comfy bed, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a proper, functional bathroom. The interior design is incredibly elegant. The grounds are immaculate, and having access to the hot tub was the icing on the cake. A massive thank you to the host, who was lovely and handled my special request for a birthday surprise decorations and a cake flawlessly. We honestly cant wait to come back. Topnotch!
This was amazing, turn right at the red phone box passed two cottages and there on the left was this perfect shepards hut. . your very own little pond with ducks and we had a visit from a Heron very clean, very homely perfect for me the good lady and small dog. Had everything you need within so we didn't eat out cooked for the 3 nights we were there, highly recommend. We wil be sure to come back, thank you. Karl, Jo and Wilson x

Lovely, peaceful stay at Celyn. Exactly as advertised a little corner of tranquility! The facilities were all clean and the heating worked excellently which was great with the low temperatures! The hot tub and fire pit were great in the evening to sit out, listening to the stream and the owls while watching the stars! And the friendly Mrs Lloyd provided much entertainment! Would 100 stay again!

The place is amazing. I really enjoyed myself and am looking to come back during the summer. The place was super clean. The owners are super friendly and attentive. Wished I could have stayed longer. The farm cat Mrs Lloyd, is super adorable and loves a pet.
Danielle
A fantastic shepherds hut, in a great location. My husband, dog and I stayed here for 6 nights in November. It was surprisingly spacious, finished to a high standard, beautifully furnished and immaculate. The setting was perfect, so peaceful and felt really secluded. Some lovely walks from the door and so many others just a short drive away. Beach, rivers, forests and mountains. Would definitely recommend.
Charlotte
Such a lovely place to stay we loved the truly private front yard area with a pond, fire pit and amazing wood fired hot tub. The cabin itself stayed warm even without the heating on, everything was incredibly clean and well maintained. Everything worked in the kitchen the only very minor downside was the lack of draining board on the sink made washing up a bit of a pain worth bearing in mind if you plan to cook every night. But this really was so minor when compared with all the other amazing amenities! The bed was comfortable, the waterfall shower was very nice, and the views were beautiful. The hosts even left out some pumpkins since we stayed over Halloween which was a cute gesture It was very good value for money and in a remote but accessible location with the lovely town of Barmouth 10 minutes drive away and beautiful walks right out the front door! The directions were very clear and we found the place easily even in the dark. We did make the mistake of being too nice to Mrs Lloyd the cat she snuck into the cabin and made herself comfortable on the sofa one evening! We are missing the place already and will certainly be back in the future. Thankyou for a lovely holiday.
Where do I start? What a magical place! The location is stunning. The property is beautifully decorated, well appointed and very comfortable. I was worried about being cold during the night but it wasn't the case at all. The weather wasn't kind to us with gale force winds and heavy rain but, looking out the big windows with a hot cup of it, it felt amazing. The fridge was a good size and I didn't use the oven but the two hobs worked perfectly. The shower was amazing. This property is a little gem in the middle of the most beautiful scenery. Convenient for Dolgellau, Barmouth, Coed y Benin located just under 20mins away. Plenty of exploring and walking to be done. If the weather had been kinder, it would have been amazing. I can't recommend this property enough. I was heartbroken to have to leave. Hopefully, I'll be back there soon.
Sharon
Wow, what a stunning shepherds cottage! Finished to a very high standard and absolutely immaculate inside and out. A very cosy place, we found that the heating didn't need to be on despite staying in October, it was plenty warm enough in fact we had to.open the windows!. Absolutely beautiful setting, could hear the rushing stream in the background which was very relaxing, especially when in the hot tub! Mrs Lloyd the cat paid regular visits for a fuss, despite having our dog with us soon made herself scarce though. Only slight negative was that toiletries had to be stored on the floor in the shower room, a shelf or slim cupboard would be useful as there seemed to be plenty of space for one. Can't fault anything though really, would definitely love to stay again.
Kathryn
What a perfect shepherds hut with everything you could need! And a view from your bed to die for! Shame it rained a lot but still loved every second celebrating our anniversary. Thank you!
Alison
What a perfect place to stay for a few days rest. Lovely secluded position in beautiful surroundings. Would happily stay there again. Property was immaculately kept and welcome items a lovely touch.
Ceridwen
WOW was our first impression as we saw our accommodation for 3 nights. The outdoor space was beautiful and so peaceful, we enjoyed having breakfast and supper on the decking looking over the pond. The inside of the shepherds hut was finished to such a high standard, from the Joules bedding, leather sofa and soft throws to the most amazing shower. We had everything we needed and would definitely like to holiday here again. Thank you x
Gillian
Spent a wonderful weekend in this lovely shepherds hut. It is nothing short of perfect beautifully furnished, peaceful and felt as though everything within and outside was of the highest standard. We loved the hot tub and the seating area by the pond especially as we were surrounded by emperor dragonflies and all manner of birds. The hut was thoughtfully stocked with everything we could have needed and the welcome food and drinks were very welcome indeed! What a magical place, highly recommend to one and all. The presence of the redoubtable Mrs Lloyd was an added bonus we hadnt anticipated! Thank you.
I would like to say wow! We arrived and we were just shocked at how lovely the hut was and the views we had when sitting outside I couldnt recommend this place enough will certainly be coming back and recommending to friends and family. It was a nice getaway being completely closed of to people and going to sleep at night listening to the water flowing outside. The hut was clean inside and out we were sad to leave the hot tub was really an extra bonus!!
Rachel
Lets start off with wow! First impressions the location is spectacular with the tranquil flow of the nearby river helping to destress instantly. The outside area is so well thought out decking looking over the pond and hot tub is a real treat. Inside the hut is just beautiful. Cosy, comfortable and really well appointed. Our dog, whos quite on the geriatric side, absolutely loved pottering around the garden. Thank you, well be back again
Could not fault a thing, a lovely 3 day break for our Wedding Anniversary
An idyllic setting has been lovingly created here. We loved every minute of our stay. It was everything we wished for. We loved it so much we want to return. Loved our visits each day from Mrs Lloyd the cat! The hot tub was amazing!
A beautiful property in a stunning, private location. The thought and detail put into this Shepherds hut is fantastic all you could need and want in a short break away. Loved every minute of it and didn't want to come home! Would love to visit again.
Perfect spot for a quiet getaway. The setting felt very private and very quiet the property was clean and well maintained. It's is small but had everything we needed for a couple of nights, with a good shower and a comfy bed. For us a huge plus point was that there was livestock fencing surround the garden, which meant our dog could explore and we could relax. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.
Philip
Very tranquil break surrounded by trees and hills. There were buzzards in the sky and butterflies and birds in the trees. Four sheep and three horses lazing in the field opposite. Fish in the little pond and the sound of a river gently flowing. Maybe a teapot and perhaps a microwave would have been useful, but, for a couple in our seventies, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Phil and Diane.
This place was fabulous! Loved everything about it. So peaceful, with your only little space in the Welsh countryside. Its beautifully decorated inside and out. Thank you for a great stay.
Valerie
My actual vacation plans got cancelled so the Shepherd hut was a last minute short get away for myself. The Shepherd hut was perfect. Perfect in every way and the location absolutely stunning. The hut itself is immaculate and there was a nice welcome surprise. It rained most of the time so I did not use the hot tub. That is just one thing out of our control. I was on my own and it was great but for a couple it is ideal if you enjoy peace and quiet it beautiful surroundings. I hopefully will be back. Thank you so much.
Louisa
Well what can i say Gethin and Clare you have created something spectacular. Celyn is truly a special place to stay, it's a fantastic shepards hut with privacy, seclusion and luxury all in one. Perfect for a romantic break with everything you need. We had such wonderful holiday and are looking forward to coming back again very soon.
Absolutely beautiful! Situated perfectly, surrounded by the hills, with its own enclosed garden, perfect for our dog to roam safely. The hut itself has been finished beautifully and is so cosy as well as very clean. Lovely touches such as welcome gifts, complimentary teas, coffee, logs for the hot tub, towels etc. The property is set back and totally private so we could relax in the hot tub in the evening and sit on the veranda looking out onto the pond. We enjoyed waking up to see the sheep and horses in the field, again sitting outside with a morning cuppa before venturing out for a stroll on the nearby Barmouth beach or walking one of the many walks nearby. So peaceful and tranquil, Thankyou for our stay, we will definitely be returning! Our new favourite place!
