Caerffynon Bach Reviews

Our second visit to this amazing cottage. Extremely well equipped and clean. The views are amazing. Peace and quiet apart from the sheep and birdsong I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.
Wonderful time again in a beautiful cottage. Staying here makes us feel recharged and helps us to relax. Owners very helpfully provide milk, a cake and other provisions. A lovely gesture which is much appreciated.

This is a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location overlooking fields and hills. Definitely a little home from home with everything we needed during our stay. A couple of small problems were quickly rectified by lovely family members . The welcome gifts were very much appreciated . Would love to return in the warmer weather when we could sit outside and enjoy the views and peace and quiet.
Rachel
Comfortable and spacious, well lit for reading important to us! as well as plenty of adjustable lighting options. Pleasantly surprised by the glimpse of sea view from the entry, kitchen and dining table. Best holiday cottage we've ever visited for ample supply of mugs! Whereas just enough wine glasses. Enjoyed the welcome treats all week. Small quibble about the listing, which caught us out slightly in our catering plans, good sized fridge with decent sized ice box, but not what I think of when I read fridge freezer under facilities. Nevertheless, we'll plan to return, just with provisioning plans more suited to the facilities we now know to expect.

A fantastic cottage in stunning surroundings! The cottage had everything we needed for an enjoyable week's stay large kitchen with all the amenities but the fridge was small with a tiny freezer so don't buy too much frozen food. Living room is cosy with a relaxing ambience, we loved our evenings in front of the electric logeffect fire. The WiFi speed is quite low at around 5mbs download so be aware if this is important to you. The bedroom with the skylight was great and loved the moonlight shining throughcan be covered if you wish plus the bathroom was great for us, the shower was surprisingly good! There's plenty of walking routes from the cottage too, a great bonus and we went for a stroll every day. We loved the isolation of being in the hills but the lane from the main road up to the cottage is around 1 mile long and almost entirely single lane, be prepared to reverse if you meet another car coming towards you! Overall a great stay though and would happily return to explore more of Snowdonia.
Alison
We loved our stay at this comfortable cottage. Situated up in the hills above the village, it was so peaceful. We were blessed with good weather so were able to fully enjoy the wonderful views around us. The cottage is well equipped and maintained, and very spacious for two people. The only slight drawback is that, instead of the fridgefreezer advertised, there is only a small under counter fridge with icebox. As wed brought groceries with us, we struggled to find space for it all. However, this didnt detract from our enjoyment of our stay and would recommend this cottage to any couple looking for a peaceful location in this part of Wales.
Wonderful stay. Lovely welcome package on arrival. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Had a few days out, but enjoyed the cosy cottage as well.
We had the most wonderful week at the cottage, it is extremely comfortable and no stone has been left unturned to make sure everything you could need is catered for. The views are spectacular and the owners are very friendly which was lovely. The patio area is exceptional where you can just sit and watch the farm animals going about their business. All in all we would say ithe best cottage we have stayed in and will definitely make the time to visit again.
Could not fault anything, very clean had everything we needed to have a relaxing time. very nice setting made you feel part of the surroundings with the sheep wandering around the property . good views of the hills and also you could see the sea from the patio .
We had a lovely holiday in beautiful surroundings and had a very warm welcome on arrival. The cottage was lovely and spotlessly clean. Would certainly recommend a stay.
Michael

Really good cottage in a great location and fantastic views of the surrounding area. Cottage was clean very tidy and the kitchen was all you would want on vacation. Having read the visitors book it was clear that visitors had a great time and we would second that view.

A lovely, peaceful place, perfect for a quiet get away. A good location for exploring the local area for walking, beaches etc but a car is essential. We have been twice and have booked for a third time.
Couldnt fault it.
The most beautiful place to stay especially when the sun shines. .. Nothing to disturb the peace and quiet of this rugged location .
Teresa
This was our second stay at the cottage and it was just as we remembered it. If you want a quite relaxing place to stay this is the place surrounded with fields and sheep and see the sea from the patio.

Tracey
3rd time staying here and still loved it despite the weather! ! Idyllic location with mountain view on one side, and seaview the other. Loved seeing the baby lambs in the field and also the red kite flying above. Cottage has everything you need and lots of extra touches such as lemon drizzle cake, Welsh cakes and milk on arrival. Always fresh flowers there too. Great base to explore the surrounding area. Will be back same time next year booked already! Xx
Michael
We really loved the place and it had everything we needed for a relaxing break including the basic essentials on arrival and cakes to welcome us. Also we appreciated a visit from the owners Mum on the first day to make sure we were OK! It was so nice to be surrounded by the ewes and labs with the real wilderness of the Rhinogs and a short walk away. I would recommend it to anyone. We were very lucky with the weather but would not have minded whatever it was.
A lovely stay in a beautiful cottage with glorious weather as a bonus! The fields with sheep and lambs were a delight. A wonderful welcoming cake, milk etc was very nice. A very comfy home from home.
We had a very enjoyable time at Caerffynnon Bach. The rural location is ideal one can walk up into the hills from the kitchen door, and yet it is only a five minute drive to the shops at Dyffryn. Excellent clean accommodation, and lovely owners nearby.
Sharion
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Caerffynon Bach & had an absolutely wonderful time. It really is a homefromhome holiday experience. The welcome of fresh flowers, cakes & milk in the fridge were a lovely thought & the a personal visit by the owners Mum to welcome us was such a lovely gesture too. The cottage is absolutely stunning & is the perfect place to relax & enjoy a quiet holiday away. If you like sheep this is the perfect place for you! There is nothing better than listening to them baaing at night & they are so friendly & inquisitive. All your needs are catered for, the kitchen is as well equipped as your own kitchen, the owners have thought of everything. Books & puzzles are there for the rainy days & the views & landscape are to be enjoyed on the outside patio seating area. Good location for exploring we bought fish & chips back from Barmouth for tea one night & they stayed nice & hot after the journey home! We will definitely be rebooking in the future.
Beverley

Another wonderful stay in this delightful cottage! It has a very comfortable feel about it. Nice and cosy, and the weather wasn't as bad as the forecasters would have you believe. Looking forward to coming again next year.
This is a perfect cottage, everything you need is provided. It is so comfortable. It is very relaxing with the animals. It is like home from home. we love it. It is ideal for walking, we park up when we arrive and don't use the car until we leave for home.
Excellent property very comfortable, spotlessly clean, furnished to a very high standard, excellent location with great views. Great base for exploring the area with much to do, taking local walks or just relaxing. Owner was was very helpful and delightful to be welcomed with flowers, cakes and milk in the fridge !
Excellent cottage for a relaxing holiday
A fabulous stay in a remote cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed fantastic views of the surrounding hills, in a quiet, undisturbed, beautiful location, with the company of birds, sheep and cows, and the occasional tractor! There's lots to explore in the local area, especially if you like walking or cycling. One tip, we did a week's main shop in Porthmadog before we arrived, as there's no main supermarkets nearby, although there small convenience stores about 10 minutes drive away about 30 minutes walk. Our stay was restorative and we're looking forward to visiting again! We loved it it was one of our favourite holidays ever.
Philip
This was one of the best properties I have stayed in, the facilities where excellent, everything you could want for a holiday. Plenty to do in the area and if you just want to chill out the sheep will keep you entertained. This will be my first choice for a holiday in Wales.
Elaine

Second visit to this little gem of a cottage have already booked to return absolutely love this place perfect get away and plenty of hiking to be done such a perfect spot and so peaceful. Thankyou
Roderick
The cottage and facilities were excellent, with thought and consideration having been given to the needs of holiday visitors and to making their stay very enjoyable. As the area was remote with very few public charging points, we asked the owner if it would be possible to use and pay for electricity to charge our car and appreciated their cooperation.
Tracey
Our second stay at Caerffynon Bach and cottage was still as gorgeous as ever. Spacious, comfortable and warm, and filled with everything you could possibly need. Loved the new Orla Keely bedding. The milk, Welsh cakes, lemon drizzle and flowers were much appreciated. Enjoyed watching the birds on the bird table from the kitchen window and being greeted by the sheep on our return from days out Great base to explore the Snowdonia region. We have already booked our return visit for next year. Fabulous place x
