Bwthyn Caerdeon Reviews

Wow what a stunning property in a beautiful location. We had everything we needed for our stay and so much more! The kitchen had every utensil that was needed, the whole place was decorated beautifully and to a very high standard. The little touches were so thoughtful milk and a jug of cold water in the fridge, the snacks and gifts. We absolutely loved sitting outside in the mornings with a cup of tea and watching the woodpeckers, jays and other birds on the feeders. Our stay was everything would could have asked for and so much more thank you!
I would happily recommend bwthyn caerdeon if you are looking for a lovely, comfortable, peaceful holiday. The cottage houses the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the owl hooting me asleep was delightful. I found myself a little too large to sit comfortably at the dining area in the kitchen, but managed perfectly well eating from the coffee table. The welcome goodies chocolate, milk, Welsh cakes, etc were delicious. Thank you. The owners were on hand toshow me how to work the telly I don't have a smart tv and pointed out a lovely local walk. Being 3 miles from Barmouth, food shopping and beach were with in easy reach. I would love to book again.
We really enjoyed our stay, great location, very peaceful. Had everything we could need and the welcome pack was very much appreciated. The bed was really comfortable. We would just say that if youre over 5 foot 4 you need to bend down in the shower. My partner is 6 foot and didnt find the shower very comfortable. But overall we would come back!
Therese
Lovely property in a beautiful setting, only a short drive from Barmouth which was great, the owners left us some welsh treats which were much appreciated. We will be in Barmouth a couple of times next year and will definitely book this property again if available.

Absolutely amazing holiday accommodation the owners have thought of literally everything. So clean and cosy. Spacious rooms cleaned to a very high standard. We had a very comfortable and restful week at the cottage. The cottage is a home from home and so well equipped with all that was needed. Very kind of you to allow us access to your grounds and lakes, which I know my partner particularly enjoyed. Hope to be back at some point as lots do to in the area.
We had an amazing week at Bwthyn Caerdeon. What a FANTASTIC little cottage! A real gem. Beautiful both inside and out and absolutely spotless. One of the best we've stayed in. It had everything we needed & more. The welcome pack was superb and the milk in the fridge was a godsend. The bed was super comfortable. Loads of wardrobe space for clothes. Plenty of hot water for showersbaths and the cottage itself was always warm. The kitchen had every utensil you needed. The added bonus of a washing machinedryer came in very handy. The garden was a delight, very private and so relaxing sitting out there listening to the birdsong and the trickle of the stream. We saw plenty of birds on the feeders and the great spotted woodpecker was a frequent visitor. Would I recommend to others? Most definitely!! It's the perfect base to explore around the area.

Cottage was perfect, I've stayed in many cottages over the past 35 years and can't think of any that matches this one, hope to return in the future.
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this marvellous cottage. It's conveniently located near Barmouth but within easy driving distance to Beddgelert and Snowdon. The house was cosy, clean and beautifully furnished. The highlight was coming home from a hike and sitting down to a cup of tea on the terrace next to a little stream. There was a little basket of goodies and milk in the fridge too. Couldn't recommend this lovely house more highly.

Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location a short drive off the main road. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. Spacious lounge and kitchen an beautiful bathroom. We liked the additional toilet with washing machine and dryer. Lovely bedroom with very comfortable bed. My only criticism is the rubbish bins which are slightly difficult to access.
Jackie
Cannot fault this beautiful cottage in the woods, so comfortable and peaceful with everything we needed for a fabulous few days. Tasty welcome pack with local produce and walks right from the door
This was one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in. Very comfortable, modern, clean & wellmaintained. In particular, the bed linen was lovely, the welcome pack was very thoughtful & generous and any contact we had with the owners was pleasant & helpful. We would definitely recommend this property to other holiday makers & the whole experience of booking through Sykes was very straightforward. Thank you.

An exceptional cottage in every respect. From the welcome hamper filled with local luxuries to the owners' impeccable taste in furnishings and decor, the thoughtful ecotouches to the detailed information folder and local maps, everything about Bwthyn Caerdeon speaks of the owners' care, consideration and generosity. It's a perfect base for exploring the local hills, beaches and the Afon Mawddach estuary. And if you misjudge the weather and head out on a recce without waterproofs well, there's even a tumble dryer to bail you out of a soggy trousered predicament.
First rate tasteful property with everything possible provided.
Better water flow to be installed Walkin shower No need for washing machinedryer

Lovely cottage in lovely, quiet location. Ideal for exploring Barmouth and further afield. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the patio and watching the woodpeckers feed, and the sound of the stream running alongside the property. The bed was very comfortable, the cottage comfortably furnished and the appliances easy to use.
Cathryn
The cottage was lovely and in an ideal spot and we were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. First impressions were that the cottage was lovely and clean, nice towels and bed linen. The bed was very comfortable. In the kitchen there was every applianceutensil wise that we needed. The sandwich maker was very marked so we didn't use that. There was an odour in the kitchen, around the oven area that wasn't particularly nice, we couldn't ascertain what it was it where it came from. We had a fly infestation up in the small landing toilet so maybe a supply of fly spray would have been handy, even though I hate using spray it would have been useful on this occasion. Luckily we had kept the door shut so they were mainly confined to that room although somehow they did make they way into the bathroom next to it. The water from the shower in the bath was very slow draining and when I checked on the last day as I was cleaning the bath I saw that the slow drainage was due to a clogged up plughole. This might be worth checking now and again to ensure water drains freely. The patio outside was lovely, had the sun and the sound of the running stream and birdsong was just idyllic, very restful. We were visited by several species of birds on the bird feeder including a regular woodpecker. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

The photo's do not do this place justice, it is stunning. I have already booked another week for this year. There is a tiny brook in the garden and can be heard clearly, so relaxing and zen like. It is a 6 minute drive to Barmouth which is a wonderful large beach and close to fantastic walks within Snowdonia National Park. A beautiful find to add to my list! Cannot wait to return.
Sadly due to a family emergency we had to leave early but what a cracking little cottage, nice and secluded but central enough for lots of access to many places. From the welcome pack which was over and above any expectations to the gadgets and gizmos which as an aged non techie couple had us looking puzzled
