2 Bwth Mawr Reviews

Our second visit it often feels like a risk to revisit somewhere you have loved, but any worries we may have had were completely unjustified! Beautiful, comfortable, warm and well equipped cottage in a gorgeous location with wonderful views. Would highly recommend this very special place.
Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. We had a really lovely time and the cottage surpassed all of our expectations!
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location, with views of Barmouth harbour and the sea that were beyond expectation. Don't be put off by access, as this adds to the adventure of staying somewhere so special. Parking straightforward following the owners recommendations. A fantastic holiday.

This cottage is lovely . Clean ,cosy and well equipped, everything is of a very high standard indeed. The views are awesome. Don't be put off by the number of steps mentioned, There are lots of different ways up to the cottage much easier than you think. Pack light. The more you climb The Rock the easier it gets. The car park suggested is the best one to use and Andy is friendly and easy to deal with. We had a fantastic holiday. Thank you.
What a little gem! Spectacular views from both inside the cottage and from the three outdoor areas. The cottage is very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The weather was amazing and we spent many hours sat on the middle terrace. Lots of different walks, across the bridge to Fairbourne, up to the flag and Panarama walk. We will definitely book again. Thank you.
Maureen
Fab cottage with everything u you need. Beautifully done out and the views are amazing. So much to see and do. Will definitely be going back again. Thank you for your little home made touches. Wonderful
The property was exactly as described. Yes there were 122 steps but wow the view was worth it, if you need assistance with bags this can be arranged separately with the owner, we chose not to select this service and although we are 60 years of age it was not a major issue as it really only affects you on your first and last day. Car parking is in local car parks all pay and display, however we did find some on street free parking but had to walk a bit further for this. The views from the property can be enjoyed from both bedroom windows, the lounge window and from the front door that we left open as the weather was very kind to us. There are two outside terraces, one with a table, chairs and umbrella, the other with a washing line, again amazing views from both. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the town. The only annoying thing is the fact that the shower is hand held over the bath, although this might be a bit if faff you have to weigh this up against the huge benefits this property has. All in all what more could you as for.
Peaceful , relaxing cottage with amazing views. Everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Need to be fit and in good health to manage the walk up steps to the cottage. We had a fabulous time there and will always treasure our time there.
Melanie
Perfect cottage for the three of us, in an ideal location the views are magical. We had a great time. The cottage has everything you need. Beautiful walks & a birds eye view looking down over the estuary, harbour & beach. So peaceful. Highly recommend. Thanks for having us.
Fabulous location although not for the fainthearted! Beautiful cottage providing warmth, comfort and just the best views of the bay.
Claire
A snug cottage in a beautiful location. The mediterranean feel of The Rock in Barmouth is exemplified by this 18c fisherman's cottage. The views from the terrace in good weather and the windows in the cold are of mountains sweeping down to the sea, and the bustle of the harbour. The cottage has all you need , just remember to double check your shopping list before heading homeward up the steps.
Amanda
2 Bwth Mawr is such a lovely cosy cottage in the most wonderful location and we really didnt want to come home. The views are simply amazing no matter what the weather. The owners who clearly love this cottage have thought of everything to ensure their guests have a great holiday. If you love history, the Welsh seaside, beautiful walks and a friendly thriving little town youll love it here. And if youve got a dog theyll love it too. Mine certainly did!
Beautifully kept cottage with all the home comforts whilst keeping its charm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with lovely walks above the cottage & down on the beach. Roger personally contacted us to make sure things went smoothly which was a nice touch. A good yomp up the steps to the cottage, but so worth it for the unique views! Many thanks, Paul, Lesley, Patrick & Pepper
We had a brilliant time at Bwth Mawr. It has stunning views of the harbour in Barmouth and we sat for ages at the window just enjoying the changing views as different weather systems came in and the tides turned. The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The week we arrived there was an issue with the easy pathway to the cottage and the owners went out of their way to ensure that we knew an alternative route to access the cottage, sending maps online and offered help in other ways. We were very appreciative of this extra support. The owners also checked on us when Storm Agnes went through Barmouth, checking that we were okay and making suggestions for a day indoors. I highly recommend Bwth Mawr as a place to stay.
A fantastic little cottage with breathtakingly beautiful views. Inside the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed. One other plus here over other cottages we've stayed at was the television gave us a choice of SKY Freeview or though the BT box, which gave us plenty of choice on our one rainy day! The only negative for us was leaving on the Saturday, we could have stayed much longer.
Beautiful cottage, stunning views, very clean and comfortable
Louise
We had the most enjoyable break in the most beautiful location. I would recommend to anyone, especially if you're a small family looking for some wholesome family downtime.
Laurie
We loved our stay here. The views are fantastic and this original part of Barmouth up on the hill is in a great position. The house was as described and well equipped, with the added bonus of guide books and maps to explore the area. I would flag the headroom though being a small old cottage the ground floor beams do get in the way for taller people I'm 6'5. Not enough to put me off though I would stay again.
Tricia
Beautiful, well equipped cottage except for no microwave. As we eat out every day it would have been nice to warm up a snack in the evening. Absolutely stunning views. Roger was very friendly and helpful, would recommend
2 Bwth Mawr sits in a very privileged position high above Barmouth and has stunning views that can be enjoyed from three pretty terraces outside and from indoors too. The walk to the cottage which we were fully aware of isn't easy and we are fairly fit, but we were there during a heatwave! The plus side of being high on the hill is that it's an absolute haven of peace and tranquility and a huge contrast to the hustle and bustle of Barmouth in high season. One thing to note is parking, we paid 11 each day for 24hr parking which you can use in many carparks in the region when visiting other areas but do check. We still managed to get a parking ticket though as we left our vehicle in a bay on Marine Parade back in Barmouth overnight so make sure you move in the evening to the main car park when things get quieter. We had a lovely week in Roger and Angela's cottage, thank you for sharing your home so other people can enjoy this beautiful part of Wales with all the flora and fauna plus a memorable view over the sea to Snowdonia.
Excellent service and support from the proprietors. Property comfortable, well equipped with lovely views . Most enjoyable place to stay.
Andrew
Had a great week the cottage was perfect for us. A lovely place to stay with fantastic views over the sea. The owner takes pride in making sure the guests are comfortable.
Richard
A beautiful cottage with spectacular views and a wonderful scene of calmness. Well equipped and considerate holiday rental. Be sure to travel light and locate the cottage before hauling your luggage. The hosts are very helpful and attentive if you need to ask anything via text or call. Will definitely be returning.
